After an audit that ended in February, Cerbras, a national reference in the porcelain and ceramic coverings segment and present in the market for more than 30 years, was awarded the ESG-FIEC seal, a title responsible for validating companies' environmental, social and corporate practices. It is the first company in the sector, in the country, to receive the ESG seal.
The recognition ceremony was held this Wednesday (26), with certification delivered by the president of the Federation of Industries of the State of Ceará, (FIEC), Ricardo Cavalcante, at the institution's headquarters. The president of Cerbras, Ana Lúcia Mota, the administrative and environmental vice-president, Ticiana Mota, and the marketing coordinator, Iana Arruda, were at the event to represent the brand.
Cerbras adopts several sustainable practices that guarantee product quality and reduce environmental impacts. Thus, it was possible for the company to receive the ESG-FIEC seal. Among these activities, the reuse of water from the production process stands out, as it operates in a closed cycle, after use it is sent to the treatment station and returned again for use in production. Furthermore, Cerbras is a pioneer in Brazil in the use of Biogas, one of the cleanest energy sources today. It is also worth highlighting that it reintegrates manufacturing waste into the production cycle, such as uncontaminated clay dust and ceramic shards, as well as waste from granite processing from third parties, also contributing to the circular economy.
Ticiana Mota, Administrative and Environmental Vice President of Cerbras, highlights the importance of this seal for the company. "The ESG-FIEC seal is a certification that gives credibility to companies that apply sustainability, governance and social well-being actions in their daily actions. It is by thinking about the collective that we are able to offer better products for society, and being recognized by the Federation of Industries of Ceará is something that gives us a lot of gratitude and reinforces our work", he states.
About the ESG-FIEC seal
The ESG-FIEC certification program is responsible for evaluating industries in Ceará in management, environmental and social contexts. Those who join the seal's certification program undergo a series of assessments by a team that judges whether the actions implemented by the industry really comply with ESG practices. Achieving this seal is essential for companies to prove that they are, in fact, committed to causes such as the preservation of natural resources, people management and the growth of society as a whole.
